The project involved the adaptive reuse of the historic Rugg Building, a former textile industry building in downtown Haverhill. Completed in 2019, the space features 24 residential units and ground level retail space. RODE designed the units, circulation cores, and MEP/FP systems while preserving and highlighting the historic character of the building. Funding support required review of landmark status and facade rehabilitation. The project is widely supported in the community as the next step in the Haverhill Renaissance to revitalize the historic Washington Street corridor.
