On top of a ridge overlooking marshes on the North River, the residence is transformed into a place where the owners can enjoy the outdoors throughout their home. The addition expands all the spaces on the side facing the water, re-orienting views towards the mouth of the river. Revisions to the building’s existing structural frame are kept to a minimum, creating a seamless composition between the existing portions and addition in the home.
