Description
Leo Birmingham, upon its completion, provided Brighton with 79 residential units as well as a roof deck, fitness room; fireplace lounge with co-working cafe; private dining area; club room; amenity lobby; and ground level commercial space for WeWork and GameZone. RODE was in charge of the interior design and overall concept features of the new building, with Hendren Associates as the architect.
RODE integrated two locally-driven design concepts for the interiors: "The Athletic Scholar" - Featuring sophisticated wood tones, whites/creams, maroons, browns, and plaids, the scheme pulls from the many nearby universities, such as Harvard, Boston University, and MIT, with references to notable collegiate activities such as The Head of the Charles.
"The Loft" - This theme will feature a darker color scheme, raw lighting and edgier materials—think of a rock star's music loft. The Brighton area is known for its music venues, and this concept references the neighborhood's subculture, bringing up memories of the Paradise Rock Club, Great Scott, and the infamous Aerosmith apartment on Commonwealth Avenue.
