Chelsea Point challenged our team to design a large industrial building that fits appropriately into its urban setting. The large warehouse and distribution center is situated between a residential neighborhood and busy waterfront area. With communities so close by, we found ways to improve the site and public realm while also establishing the building’s presence with:

• Patterned precast concrete panels, modern signage, and lighting

• A landscape buffer that wraps the entire building with lush greenery

• Strategically-placed screen walls to obstruct views into the loading area

• An improved pedestrian experience and connection to the waterfront with seating areas, walkways,  and vegetation.

The result will be a 146,000 SF freight forwarding facility with 33 loading bays and 202 parking spaces that not only seamlessly co-exists but also compliments and improves the surroundings area.
