Description
The design concept of the project revolves around three major urban forces – the humane, joyful long term housing of elderly residents, the repositioning of and deference to the Hill Memorial Baptist Church, and the architectural knitting of a dense housing typology into its neighborhood.
The project is also a partnership with Brighton-Allston Elderly Housing (BAEH), and provides an expanded public realm including partially sheltered plaza, safer crosswalk connection to the Honan- Allston Library, and shared community and amenity space created through adaptive reuse of the church building.
