Description
This project is a renovation of an existing 5-story masonry building dating back to 1904 at 575 Albany Street in Boston’s South End. Originally a stable building with a blacksmith shop, the building has gone through many uses and owners over the past century of its life. RODE's renovation involves maintaining and restoring the historic exterior masonry walls while entirely gutting the interior and providing all new construction to accomodate modern housing needs. The building will provide 44 new condominium residential units- 39 market-rate condominimum units, and 5 artist studio units, knitting it in with the enduring artist community in the South End. A ~1,100 SF retail space will activate the ground level, bringing new life to Albany Street, while a new 6th floor residential addition will boast a rooftop amenity deck and highlight views to downtown Boston and beyond.
